TCK World

The Lord Jesus Christ was a TCK (Third Culture Kid). To some extent at least.

Because soon after he was born in his mother's and Joseph's official hometown of Bethlehem in Israel, his parents and he moved to Egypt.

(But I don't know how young he was when they left Egypt to return to the land of Israel.)

Plus when they did move back, instead of settling in Israel-proper, he and his parents settled in the Galilee region, which was considered almost borderline non-Jewish by some.

And not just anywhere in Galilee, but in a city called Nazareth. Nazareth's reputation was like, "Can anything good come from Nazareth?"

All the while still having this strong connection of course to Israel's capital, Jerusalem. But to visit Jerusalem - which his family often wanted to do - they likely had to travel through Samaria. The Samaritans and the Jews, as you may know, weren't seeing eye-to-eye on things.

So maybe that all had its complications.

In case some TCK might draw comfort and inspiration knowing that.
