The Last Day

Paul told Timothy that Jesus Christ shall judge the quick and the dead at His appearing and kingdom. So that means that although it is appointed unto man once to die and afterwards to face judgment, a man's judgment doesn't take place immediately after his own death, but awaits the Judgment at the last Day.

Therefore it also follows that the 'resurrection' is not merely the heavenly state a believer enters into upon his physical death - but it also is an event to occur at the last Day.

There is a great Day coming, a day appointed by God, on which the living and the dead shall be judged by the man Whom He has appointed: Jesus Christ the righteous.

There shall be a resurrection of both the just and the unjust: the just to the resurrection of life; and the unjust to the resurrection of damnation.
