Last night I joined a Zoom Bible Study on Revelation Chapter 11. It was about the Two Witnesses. We discussed ideas about what they might represent.
During the meeting, mention was also made about how John seems to contain similar imagery to Old Testament prophecy (in Ezekiel and Zechariah, for example) - but in a Christ-centred, gospel-focused way. (So the city and temple become the heavenly city, the bride of the Lamb; and the river that flowed from the door of the temple becomes the invitation to drink of the river of eternal life, etc.)
Then we had a time of prayer together. During the prayer time I 'saw' a 'vision' of a mighty river - and I thought of the words, "You are the ones!" and I spoke it.
