An Old Earth Creationist article said canyons can be formed quickly or slowly depending on the river's capacity to carry large rocks. Then it deduced that some of earth's large canyons must have formed in mega-flood events during the earth's billion-year history. But couldn't the mega-flood event have happened more recently? Why is a mega-flood event necessarily an indication of very old age?
