Substance Not Shadow

Since the Feast of Tabernacles was a symbol of things to come, if the fulfilment of the symbolism is still to come in the future, the fulfilment won't involve just carrying out more symbols - it will be the real thing!

Therefore it isn't the Feast of Tabernacles that is in our future - but the reality that it symbolised.

Prophecies about the restoration of the literal observance of the Feast of Tabernacles were therefore fulfilled after Israel was restored from captivity in Babylon to their land, under the ministries of Ezra and Nehemiah, while Israel was still under the Old Covenant, still carrying-out symbols and shadows. In Christ's time, people were literally going up to Jerusalem from among many nations to observe the Feasts.

What is upon us now, through the Gospel, and in our future, is not the shadow but the real thing, the real Person, the real power.

The Book of Revelation, the Epistles and the Gospels don't talk about an ultimate future for us that has us reverted back to literally travelling up to the physical city of Jerusalem to observe a symbolic feast - rather, they talk about God being tabernacled with us in a real way in the new, spiritual Jerusalem - which is the bride of the Lamb.
