What the Gospel Really Tells Us

Each of the four gospels tell the story of the gospel as the climax of the story of Israel, and of David, and of Abraham, of creation, of God. The gospel was never told as a story without a backstory.
The backstories and promises which Israel were the custodians of, were stories that were always going to go somewhere. The claim of the gospel is that the gospel is where all those stories were always meant to end up and had ended up. In JESUS.
So, the gospel isn't some side-story. Believing in Jesus isn't some side-program. The Church (comprising Jews first, then Gentiles and Jews together) isn't some aside. It is the actual intended theme and climax of Bible Prophecy and promise and shadow and story.
God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself!
