The disciples gathered together to break bread upon the first day of the week.
The Law of the sabbath was for Jews under the Law. Among other things, it commemorated their deliverance from slavery in Egypt. Strict rules were attached to how it was to be observed. If you don't observe it according to the rules, you're not really keeping it.
God rested on the seventh day of the first week, and blessed the seventh day of the first week of creation, and sanctified it.
Jesus said, "My father worketh hitherto and I work".

We've now entered into God's rest though faith in Jesus.
