The Apostles' Message

The Apostles could assert that the death of Jesus on the cross, and His resurrection, were now historical facts.

No-one had that message before the fact.

That event meant a change in the way men should now approach God.

No longer with an animal sacrifice for sin. But with faith in the Son.

That represented a change of the Law.

It was a change that was consistent with the expectation that the Law had for the future.

But it was a change nonetheless.

The Jewish leaders didn't understand that the Law itself forecasted any such change in the Law at all.

They didn't understand that there would ever be any change in the necessity to offer animal sacrifices for sin.

That was the Apostles' message. It was also Jesus' message. And John the Baptist's message.
